Increase of hotspots up deployment chances(Stars N' Stripes-good info)
http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=17209

With global commitments seemingly growing every day, it’s a busy time to be in the U.S. military, especially for troops in Europe.

Of the 62,000 soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Europe, 25,000 are currently deployed, according to USAREUR spokeswoman Elke Herberger.

By 2004, perhaps 90 percent of USAREUR units will have been to Iraq, most notably from the Army’s two forward-based divisions, the 1st Armored Division and the 1st Infantry Division. As a result, Army combat-arms soldiers in Europe have a 100 percent chance they will be deployed for at least six months, and more likely a year, from now until 2005.

In addition, about 75 percent of combat units in Europe are deployed, EUCOM deputy commander Air Force Gen. Charles F. Wald was quoted in a news release as saying. In percentage terms, Europe is a bit busier than the United States.

--snip--

No period in recent history has been nearly as busy in terms of deployments, said Ralph Peters, a retired Army lieutenant colonel who was active duty from 1976 to 1998.

1. Bring 'em home!
Hard to see how Chickenhawk can talk about "other strikes" when he doesn't have anything left. But I'm sure he'll find a way.

This is bad, on so many levels; for the troops, for the military in general, for the country, and for whoever else shithead's got his eye on.

2. In no period in recent history have the chickenhawks been in control.
Sure, they had some power under Reagan/Poppy; but with Dubya they rule.

They don't just wait for hot spots to show up and then respond, they heat up warm spots, discover heat amidst the cold, and generate a few hot spots on their own. They're real good at the latter: they have so much hot air to share with the world, that they can hot it up all on their own.

The only heat they don't believe in is ... global warming.

3. Rummy's solution . . .
since he's not "adverse to adding bodies" (just not by adding new military structure), is to add 300,000 military occupation specialties that might be filled by civilians. The secretary of defense is confident that it’s practical to replace 50,000 technical and administrative jobs with civilians, freeing up soldiers without the considerable costs associated with adding structure, he said.

--------------

Hey Rummsveratu, we know already that you're not "adverse to adding bodies", we've got over 193 dead ones since your boss declared this thing over!
