1. What I want to know is if Baptist Sunday Schools have stopped

giving little pins as rewards for learning passages of scripture, such as the Ten Commandments. Certainly the older folks, like Jerry Falwell himself, should have earned their Ten Commandments pins as kids and therefore should be able to view the Ten Commandments in their mind at any time.

Why do they need a public monument to something you can carry in your mind and refer to anytime?

I do understand that these people feel that they are being discriminated against in regard to their religion but I think they might find it problematic if other faiths were given equal access to public spaces. The monument could be set up on church property where it can be seen by the public and serve the function of witnessing to the unsaved that the supporters no doubt want.
