January 54% approve

3. It jumped up significantly once fighting started.
The old "rally 'round the flag" effect.

7. yeah, but the no. who think the war was "worth it" is RISING
First column represents positive answers to:

"Now, we'd like to ask you some questions about Iraq. All in all, do you think the situation in Iraq was worth going to war over, or not?"

8/25-26/03 63 35 2
7/25-27/03 63 34 3
7/18-20/03 63 35 2
6/27-29/03 56 42 2

How's that for mass stupidity?

9. In between we got Saddam's sons-that's why it rose
It rose dramatically in July when the U.S. killed Usai and Oday. People felt we were getting close to Saddam and so it was worth it. It will come down again as time goes on and Saddam is still free while Americans are dying daily (another today).

10.  A little further down the page at the link site
Edited on Fri Aug-29-03 09:20 AM by jamesinca
The ABC poll ask if people are concerned about a long draw out stay in Iraq. 76% say they are concerned or somewhat concerned about this. Bush needs to get the U.S. out quick, or his numbers will look like they fell off the table, straight down. Maybe this is why they keep saying that it has only been 100+ days since major fighting has been over and that is not very long. Trying to convince us that this is not a long drawn out thing.
