Russia denies N Korean threat of nuclear test
http://jang.com.pk/thenews/aug2003-daily/30-08-2003/world/w1.htm

MOSCOW: Russia’s top negotiator on North Korea denied on Friday that Pyongyang had threatened to conduct a nuclear test during crisis talks on its standoff with Washington.

"The North Korean delegation did not make such a declaration at the Beijing talks," RIA Novosti quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov as saying.

"US officials’ claims that North Korea made the threat do not correspond to reality", Losyukov was separately quoted as saying by Interfax.

Washington officials said a defiant North Korea threatened to formally declare itself a nuclear power and conduct a nuclear test in the near future.

3. Interesting, cause....
cause Pravda reported the same thing about North Korea declaring they had weapons.
http://english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/366/10578_koreanuclear.html

So I wonder what the real russian position is...actually I'm more concerned with the real American position!!

4. Here is the difference...

The link I provided quotes someone in the story who was actually at the talks.

>>>"The North Korean delegation did not make such a declaration at the Beijing talks," RIA Novosti quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov as saying.<<<

The Pravda story you provided does not quote anyone.

So who you going to believe? A living, breathing human being, or a ghost? If you like ghost stories build a campfire and sit around telling them to some kids. They will love them. Kids like getting scared.

Just curious.

I'm 100% against the Bush administration in the way they're handling the North Korea situation (and a whole host of other things too, but that's not for this thread..), and trust me, I would venture to say that I have a vested interest in a peaceful outcome ....if you'll check my location...ahem..:)

Plus my birthday is on September 9th, which is the day they're "supposed to" declare...

edited for stupidity

6. You may be correct?
It just seems wierd that every time Bush's approval numbers drop a little, all of a sudden we have a new crisis somewhere. It doesn't seem to make any difference to them that they might cause the deaths of thousands of people to keep little boots numbers up. To them winning is the only important thing. People dying are meaningless to these bastards. I can't hardly believe what I am witnessing. Take care and peace.

7. Yeah, I agree...
War and terror to keep the sheeps minds off the failing economy, health care, education, job market etc at home.

"you know it's only those yellow people dying, and they deserve it anyways for not following the AmeriKKKan way of Murder King and Starfucks"

Good luck to you guys in 2004: I'll take anyone but Bush really, but my leaning goes for Dean. Strangely enough they had a little clip of Dean speaking on the Korean news tonight, he was criticizing shrub for not negotiating with the North Koreans. (something along those lines)

PEACE loud and clear, if only everyone would get the message. You can have peace if you want it...

8. kick
:kick:

Don't believe a word this administration says, especially when it involves some "evil empire" somewhere.

They are war mongers and invent conflicts out of thin air.
