The second of two men ordered released after they were arrested on suspicion of terrorist activity was set free over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, Mohammad Akhtar ran down the front steps of an immigration holding centre, jumped into his friend's pickup truck and sped out of the parking lot to avoid a media cameras.
He was freed after his friend Irshad Khalid posted a $10,000 bond. Three days earlier, an adjudicator presiding over his hearing said she saw no concrete evidence linking him to terrorism.
"I was saying that I was innocent and I believe I am innocent. I have nothing more to say than this," Mr. Akhtar told CTV News after they contacted him on Saturday.
