The people of Zabul join hands with Taliban against Karzai

The people of Afghanistan's Zabul province have revolted against the Karzai administration and joined hands with Taliban Mujahideen said a senior Taliban commander on Sunday.

Maulvi Abdul Jabbar, told Online by satellite phone that they had taken control of most of the areas in Zabul, as people of the province joined them. Earlier Afghan officials acknowledged the presence of large numbers of Taliban Mujahideen in the province.

The governor of Zabul Hafizullah admitted that thousands of Taliban were present in his province. The presence of Taliban Mujahideen in such a large number might indicate that Mullah Muhammad Omar was also in Zabul.

certainly are!

These "people" referred to in the article are most assuredly all MEN. At least under the Soviet puppet regime -- while the U.S. was busy funding the Mujahadeen out of which Al Qaeda arose -- women were granted the same rights as women in western countries enjoy.

It all just makes me ill...

4. Step One to losing the war on terror...

Bomb an already impoverished state to rubble, leave it for the second time in twenty years without any viable way to reconstruct it's infastructure and government, and then allow the coutry (again!) to fall into the hands of fundamentalist warlords.

But don't worry. When the new crop of terrorists spring from the ashes of this newest foreign policy calamity, the hundreds of billions we used to build antiquated disasters like the USS Ronald Reagen instead of to help countries like Afghanistan rebuild will be well spent...
