The families of Egyptian and Libyan passengers of a Libyan airliner shot down by Israel 30 years ago have plans to sue for Lockerbie-style compensation, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

"Egyptian blood is no cheaper than American, British or French blood," the state-owned al-Ahram daily quoted Mohammed Sherif as saying. Sherif is the son of Egyptian television presenter Salwa Hegazi, one of the 106 passengers and crew who perished on Libyan Arab Airlines Flight 114 in February 1973.

The aircraft, bound for Cairo from Tripoli, lost her way and was intercepted by Israeli jets over Egypt's Sinai peninsula, then under Israeli occupation.

If not an active terrorist, they were planning on becoming terrorists, sympathized with terrorist causes, or had on at least one occasion given food to someone whose deceased family member had committed criminal acts.

In the case of young children, they were training to be terrorists, or possibly being used by terrorists as human shields, a practice which the US and Israel reserve for their own armed forces, and consider a war crime when used by others.

Very elderly people were hiding a heretofore unsuspected terrorist past, and older children were dwarf generals in disguise.
