Gunmen kill four Pakistan political party members

KARACHI, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Gunmen shot and killed at least four members of a Pakistani pro-government political party on Tuesday in two attacks in the restive port city of Karachi, police said.

Two senior members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a coalition partner in Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali's government, were killed early on Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run attack, they said.

The victims were returning home after attending a marriage when their car was ambushed by assailants who opened fire on them with automatic weapons. Both died on the spot, police said.

Two others were killed and several wounded in a second attack that took place after the men were buried, when at least six gunmen on three motorcycles and in a car opened fire on mourners outside a house in central Karachi, police said.
