Mike Wallace Suffers Head Injury Problems
News Veteran Says Hearing, Sight Different After Fall

Mike Wallace said his "hearing, memory and sight have suffered" because he hit his head when he fell a few weeks ago.

Mike WallaceThe veteran "60 Minutes" reporter slipped and fell on a jetty while on vacation in Martha's Vineyard off the Massachusetts coast in mid-August.

He walked away from the accident, but later checked into a hospital for a few days for observation.

Doctors say he's fine, but Wallace says he knows his hearing, memory and his sight are not the same.

Wallace, 85, is still out and about, recently accepting a lifetime achievement award from the National Television Academy and researching stories for the upcoming season and starts doing interviews next week.

2. I hope he recovers.
I have enjoyed Mike Wallace for years. He is a great guy!

BTW, he has a son who is a journalist, too. But, I can't remember his name. But, he looks and sounds so much like his dad.

6. Katherine Graham and David Brinkley
both died of head injuries received from a fall. A third newsperson? This is weird. I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, just a sad coincidence.

7. i don't think it's unusual
when people are old to die like that. they are already physically weaker so affects of the fall and and being able to handle it is tougher. but i really hope mike wallace gets better. if or when we lose him it will be a great loss and i would feel very sad.

8. One of the last journalists on US television
One of the last to merit the name, anyway.

Here's hoping he can recover.
