1. In the words of the legendary John Perry Barlow
"The internet interprets censorship as damage, and routes around it."

2. From the sidebar of the article:
Michael K. Powell: "Newspapers ... serve a very valuable function. ... (They) help us figure out what's really important."

You don't say? Here I always thought their primary purpose was to line goddamn BIRD CAGES!

:dunce:

7. There's just one HUGE logical flaw
Powell assumes that, since he and the people he works with are wired, access to the internet is widespread, and that most people are able to spend as much time on it as he can. If tht were the case, concentration of newspaper and television ownership would be much less of a problem. But since most people get their news from papers and television, it's vital that a broad diversity of both ownership and viewpoint be encouraged, rather than stifled.

8. I'm so tired of this puke!
Two weeks ago he held a press conference, then a few days a ago he was on Washington Journals answering calls
from his shill buddies, putting down congress and telling the audience that the American people were being run over.
That the American people indeed wanted what he had to offer.

He booked a looser at the FCC hearings and now he back just like herpes.
