http://www.bayarea.com/mld/cctimes/business/6698295.htmSAN FRANCISCO - About 50 demonstrators gathered Thursday afternoon in front of KPIX Channel 5's offices to protest new Federal Communications Commission rules that would allow companies to own a larger chunk of television stations in local markets.
Media Alliance, a consortium that includes anti-war and anti- globalization groups, organized the event. Protesters carried signs that said "Stop the Media Monopoly" and chanted slogans like "Tell me how the Pentagon talks. Through the biased lips of Fox."
Carol Norris, a San Francisco psychotherapist and member of the anti-war group Code Pink, said she was concerned because "when five or six people own the media, only five or six people have a voice."
