Human Rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith said yesterday that there were still at least seven detainees at Camp X-ray who had previously resided in the UK.
They include three refugees granted leave to remain in the UK and a Saudi man with a British wife and four children. "Clearly we have a moral and a legal obligation to help those people," he said. "We have the power to intervene and intervene powerfully no matter where we want to go. <snip>
