President should be called 'Jimmy' (Scaife Newspaper Columnist)
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 11:50 AM by rmpalmer
This columnist used to have a radio show locally. He's right of Attila the Hun. And this is is Dicky Mellon Scaife's rag. Heard a WSJ columnist today compared Chimpy to Baghdad Bob on his mistruths.

Can conservatives admit that George Walker Bush is only slightly less inept than James Earl Carter?

Wearing a flight suit on an aircraft carrier beats wearing a cardigan sweater while sitting by a fireplace. But Bush has failed to save Iraq. Carter failed to free the hostages in Iran.

Both have been more promise than production, Bush's exemplary leadership immediately after 9/11 notwithstanding.

The unlikely withdrawal of our troops anytime soon from the Iraqi sandpit and the recent withdrawal of Bush judicial nominee Miguel Estrada from the Senate snake pit indicate that the Bush administration is more like Carter's than Ronald Reagan's.

Bush's speech Sunday confirmed he is losing the peace after winning the war. He wants help from France, and its toadies.

Oh and you gotta love now this guy wishes Congress had shown some balls and insisted only they could declare war!

1. Bush's exemplary leadership ?
oh, you mean when he LIHOP and then destroyed the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? I hardly think this qualifies as exemplary leadership. :grr:

3. You have to look at the source
What I'm hoping is the Wingnuts will be so disgusted with Boy George that one of them will get in the race and pull votes away. Or that the Wingnuts will get so disgusted some of them will sit home that Election Tuesday.

12. The latter is more likely
The Republicans aren't going to run anyone against Dear Leader, and Pat Buchanan saw how perilously close his ego trip came to costing Bush the White House, so he isn't going to do that again, though Buchanan at least publicly says he doesn't like Bush administration tactics.

But enough of the wingnuts might just sit home on election day 2004. That's why we need to increase our turnout!

4. Exemplary leadership, indeed
They must be thinking about how he flew around the country on 9/11 like the coward he is, stayed away from NYC for a week while lying about the air quality, staged a shameless photo-op on the rubble while promising funding for the firefighters, etc., then reneged on his promises.

2. Right, it was Carters fault that
(1) The military rescue failed because of a sandstorm and equipment malfucntion.
(2) That Bush,Sr. was cutting a deal with the Iranian fundies to hold the hostages until after the election.

Carter might have been smeared and belittled by the media, but, even so, Dimson couldn't even begin to the wear the shoes of Carter....it's a joke to even compare the 2.

5. This columnist is a typical wingnut
But I'm encouraged that they are no longer worshipping their "god" in a flight suit.

6. Nah...It wasn't a sandstorm:
It was Soviet Air-to-Mud fighters. Got that straight from an Air Farce fighter wing commander.

The guy said that the conventional wisdom went that the op got "shopped" to the Soviets as well.

10. I knew a guy at that time that had a source inside that operation...
...and that source stated that the helicopter intake sand covers had been removed just prior to take-off based on orders farther up the chain of command. That was the exact cause of the equipment malfunctions.

That being said, there was no way to predict the collision that killed quite a few of the would-be rescuers. That was used against Carter, too.

Carter was one of the smartest presidents we've ever had, while Dimson is perhaps marginally smarter than the average houseplant.
