NYT: Bush Budget Raises Prescirption Prices for Veterans
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 12:13 AM by BlueInRed
The veterans are getting the whammy again.

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/07/politics/07budget.html?oref=login&hp&ex=1107752400&en=0d92f7f085e39dde&ei=5094&partner=homepage

<snip>
President Bush's budget would more than double the co-payment charged to many veterans for prescription drugs and would require some to pay a new fee of $250 a year for the privilege of using government health care, administration officials said Sunday.

The proposals, they said, are in the $2.5 trillion budget that Mr. Bush plans to unveil on Monday. White House officials said the budget advanced his goal of cutting the deficit, which hit a record last year.

1. And here are a few cuts he plans to make...
<typical of Republican presidencies in my lifetime>

tmpl=story&e=4&u=/ap/20050207/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_budget

<snip>

Other programs set for cuts, the AP has learned, include the Army Corps of Engineers, whose dam and other waterway projects are extremely popular in Congress; the Energy Department; and a number of health programs under the Health and Human Services (news - web sites) Department.

About one-third of the programs being targeted for elimination are in the Education Department, including federal grant programs for local schools in such areas as vocational education, supporting drug-free schools and Even Start, a $225 million literacy program.

The administration also will seek to restrain growth in mandatory spending, primarily by trimming costs in Medicaid, the joint program with states that pays the cost of poor people's health care.

But that's not true because the New York Times is a liberal rag!!! Haha. Such crap.

I hate how he creates a deficit to justify getting rid of social programs.

5. But they've created so many jobs from the tax cuts............
just go to India, the results are amazing! Employment levels have been extremely week the least few months.........when are we going to see those huge employment jumps you promised us when you gave the richest of the rich MORE tax cuts? Any day now, right?
The Rich create the jobs, so they should get the bulk of the tax cuts, isn't that what bush said? Damn, I'd sure hate to see what would have happened of he hadn't cut taxes.
This asshole makes my skin crawl. I want to vomit everytime I see his stupid monkey face or hear his moronic, stupid voice.

6. I am so weary of it
This asshole makes my skin crawl...everytime I see his stupid monkey face or hear his moronic, stupid voice.

Me, too. I generally avoid the first part of the news so I don't have to see him and if I do hear his tinny voice, I mute it or switch the channel. I am so fed up.

7. A horrible plan
Just like the neocons to screw the military after they serve, as well as while they serve in this wicked war.

This is a plan from a completely self-centered, power obsessed, delusional "God talks to me" GW Bush.

When will this end?

11. Time for a new Veteran's Bonus Army, if you ask me.
it's always the Republicans that do this kind of thing, whether it's Herbert "the Depression was not either my fault!" Hoover or George W. "I support the troops, so long as they don't demand supplies or benefits" Bush.

12. The Presidential Tax of dishonor
For service to your country our president wants to present our vets with The National medal of Taxation this medal when received will weigh heavily around veterans necks for the rest of their lives. But, It's just another burden to bear that our Coward in Chief will proudly present to those who served our country, and survived his war!
