is going to get its ass kicked anyway in the Feb. 20th antecipated
elections so the troops were bound to be coming home soon even if they
weren't withdrawn by the conservative government...

On edit: the forces there are not military in strict sense. They
are part of a militarized service which does mostly police work
(highway patrol, etc.). The military couldn't be deployed because
the left-wing president as CinC would have to aprove it. So the
government to demonstrate its subservience to the neo-cons sent out
these guys...
