"BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS
Student awarded for Bush-Hitler project
Compares president's policies to Nazi pillage of Europe
A Rhode Island high school student won an art award and an A from his teacher for building an abstract scene that juxtaposes Nazi swastikas and quotes by Adolf Hitler with American flags, desert-colored toy soldiers and an image of President Bush.

Jeffrey Eden, 17, insisted he was trying to make comparisons between the U.S.-led war in Iraq and the German blitzkrieg without actually equating Hitler to Bush, the Providence Journal reported."

1. Since the parallels between Bush and Hitler
are are so obvious, I'd have given the kid a B.

But the student would get a special patriot award at assembly for standing bravely in a country cowed by fear and striving mightily to maintain its denial.

5. Gee you are a tough grader
I think any high school art student who can put together a collage which expresses a cogent political point of view is A material, assuming that the art was good.

4. I'd give him an A
you have to consider his courage, too. Good for the store owner for refusing to take it down, too.
