New reports of detainee abuse at Gitmo suggest interrogators used female sexuality as a weapon
By VIVECA NOVAK

...

During another break, the interrogator said she wanted to shame the devout Muslim captive in order to break his connection with God, which was giving him the strength to stonewall. After asking advice from a different translator, this one a Muslim, she went into the bathroom, taking a red marker with her. When she and the first translator re-entered the interrogation booth, she told the detainee she was having her period. She stuck her hands in her pants, then withdrew a hand and showed the detainee what appeared to be blood on it."

...

(M)ilitary officials tried to prevent disclosure of the Saudi's story. When Saar, who spent 6 1/2 months at Guantanamo as a linguist and intelligence analyst, submitted the early draft of his manuscript to the military, as the confidentiality agreement he signed requires, Guantanamo officials marked the section about the Saudi for redaction, stamping it secret.

Okay, I've lost track: how many coverups of abuse of Iraqganistan prisoners by a "handful of bad apples" in the military does this make?

ON EDIT: Punctuation

1. What really pisses me off about this is...
...how little outrage there is in the press, our politicians - especially Democrats - and the public. Our horrific treatment of our prisoners warrants a major all out attack by the Democratic Party against this miserable Administration.

But even worse, where are all the damn religious fanatics in this country? This is immoral, pure and simple. Where is THEIR outrage? Oh yeah, they've still got their panties in a wad over gays getting married. Oh yeah, they're still freaked out by Janet's tit last year. Oh yeah, they're too busy worshiping at the alter of George W as he and his cronies pick their pockets. Oh yeah, they're still busy celebrating America's revenge on Muslims, killing 10 or more innocent Muslims in Iraq for every innocent victim of 9/11. It doesn't even seem to bother them that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

Blood lust, kick ass, 20 eyes for eye: our new religious morality. God Bless America.
