1. False
Don't believe it one bit. This theory has been discredited before and it will be again.

9. 9/11 sure gets the conspiracy engines running
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 10:23 AM by RobertSeattle
I suppose Gerald Posner will need to update his classic debunking book "Case Closed" every decade or so.

My Prediction: In my lifetime someone will write a book claiming the then teen-age Bill Clinton or Arkansas had JFK whacked.

22. The thing I liked about Posner's book
was that it was based on the evidence only, not speculation.

4. I have always believed...
That LBJ was not in on it, but his friends and supporters in the CIA did it.

19. I believe a fellow...
named George H.W. Bush was in the employ of the CIA back then...and amazingly enough one of the very, very few people I've ever heard of that can't quite seem to remember his own whereabouts on November 22, 1963!

6. my mom's pet theory
This one has been floating around from the beginning. Oliver Stone alludes to it in the movie JFK.

I do not personally subscribe to it. I am of the Castro takes revenge for the assassination attempts on him meets the organized crime figures P.O.ed by Bobby Kennedy school -- in other words, I think the evidence shows that at least these two groups were involved in support and funding for the assassination.

Johnson was a crusty soul but I find it hard to imagine that he would have seen any profit in removing JFK. In an ideal world, he could have expected to be VP, working behind the scenes for 8 years, and then president, for another 8 years. As far as JFK wanting peace in Vietnam or anywhere else -- the Oliver Stone theory that JFK would have interfered with Brown and Root profits -- it's just plain wrong in my view. We cannot assume that a person is a good anti-war loving liberal just because he was pro civil rights; Johnson was also strongly pro civil rights, and would anyone mistake him for a peacenik? I think not. I think JFK would have continued in Vietnam whatever paperwork he may have waved around to the contrary, Johnson knew it, and the any Texas pork barrel would have continued as usual -- and perhaps more easily -- if JFK had lived. So what is Johnson's motive here?

Just my opinion. I think to a certain extent Johnson is misjudged -- a man in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Caveat: I haven't seen any pre-publication copies of this book...obviously haven't read it yet.

7. This is the review from Washingtontimes.com
New book says LBJ killed JFK

NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- A new book claims Lyndon Johnson was behind the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The author of "Blood, Money & Power: How LBJ killed JFK" is Barr McClellan, father of White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, the New York Daily News reports.

He writes Johnson tapped his top confidant and personal adviser, Edward Clark, to handle the dirty details as early as 1961. Clark died at age 86 in 1992.

The book is due out Sept. 30 from Hannover House.

McClellan, a retired attorney who worked with Clark, says of Johnson, who was sworn in as president shortly after Kennedy's death in Dallas: "He was a bad man. There were all these things going on ... and so much cash was coming through."

Scott McClellan was traveling with President Bush and was unavailable to comment on the book.

10. Jackie O's sister Lee Bouvier Radziwill was in a lot of trouble.
Her husband Prince Stanislaw Radziwill was Europe's No 1 honcho for the P2 lodge - the Nazi branch of the Catholic Church's fundraising network - and masterminding terrorist acts by convicted felons formerly interned in East Europe during WW2, and residing in UK in the 1960s under the guise of legitimate refugees. Many of their atrocities were attributed to the IRA, which was being bankrolled by the P2. A lot of funds were being funnelled from the US via mob networks camouflaging as Catholic youth networks - boy scouts, girl guides etc. They wanted to overthrow the UK monarchy and install a Catholic republic, headed by the Pope.
JFK was about to bust the US connection. Radziwill found out. The cover-up about the assassination has been a tacit bi partisan agreement. But the finger of blame goes back to Bush 1 and the CIA.

13. Much more reasonable
Nixon said on tape "Bush will do anything for the cause."

Nixon also links Bush with "that Bay of Pigs thing" which was his code word for the Kennedy Assassination.

Now that Caeser has revealed himself, it seems clear who had to die before Caeser could possess the Empire.

The poor Kennedys never knew the Bushveik/Nixonvik freight train that hit them.

Buty the rest of us now see the neon arrow pointing to them.

Who benefits?

18. RFK and MLK were also threats to Nixon
George Wallace would have been the spoiler. If he hadn't been shot, the southern racist would have voted for him, not Nixon. At least that was the feeling in the Nixon camp.

12. I think he may have known
and was therefore complicit but I don't think he masterminded it.

There's a terrific on-line book (the link for which I've lost, but it's not hard to find on google) -- Farewell America. I highly recommend it.

And, in general, I pretty much bought into the Oliver Stone movie which I saw for the first time only recently. Seemed entirely, 100% plausible to me, in overview. (People say some of the details were off -- but in broad strokes, I definitely buy it -- LOL so much that I bought the DVD and don't even have a DVD player - yet.)

15. It'll be interesting to see what Robert Caro has to say about LBJ, JFK
if he lives long enough to finish the fourth book of his excellent LBJ bio. LBJ was an awful man in many ways, but he did some remarkably good things. I don't think he had Kennedy killed. Castro or the mob are the more likely suspects, IMO.

20. this reminds me of a blog or article I read recently
maybe it was talkingpointsmemo? I think maybe it was...

anyway, this person noted that anytime the Repukes go off on blaming dems for this or that, it's almost like a mirror which reflects back to themselves.

as in Coulter's book, Slander, which is full of out of context quotes and misrepresentations...and then Treason, which, it seems, at least a few Repukes are guilty of via Valerie Plame.

So, when I see that the father of a Bushista is publishing a book fingering Johnson for the murder of Kennedy, it makes me think they are again using their infamous disinformation tactics to keep the truth from Americans of their activities..

like the idea for Operation Northwoods, in which our govt would commit acts of terror against its own citizens to justify an invasion of Cuba. That was earlier in 1963, according to the Bamford and ABC's reports.

The John Bircher rabid commie under every rock nutcases in this country, along with those who would imagine and promote the above scenario could kill a president as well.

Anyone who thinks Posner's book answers all the questions hasn't been asking many difficult ones, imo.

Jim Garrison has more credibility to me than Posner.

24. BINGO!!!! It's a classic example of misdirection...
Don't look here, look over THERE -- the DEMOCRAT did it!

I call bullshit. Not that I think LBJ was innocent by any means. His silence/cooperation may have been bought or cooerced -- maybe he was quite happy to do his part. But I don't think he was a central planner, I think he was following others' orders.

If you don't understand what's really going on in the shadows, the hidden and intertwined power alliances -- the OCTOPUS -- you have no chance at all of even approaching the truth that hides beneath the surface of events.
