9/11: " Administration woefully incompetent
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 08:26 AM by adigal
if not criminally negligent" - LA Times

snip/

"Would George W. Bush have been reelected president if the public understood how much responsibility his administration bears for allowing the 9/11 attacks to succeed?

The answer is unknowable and, at this date, moot. Yet it was appalling to learn last week that the White House suppressed until after the election a damning report that exposes the administration as woefully incompetent if not criminally negligent. Belatedly declassified excerpts from still-secret sections of the 9/11 commission report, which focus on the failure of the Federal Aviation Administration to heed multiple warnings that Al Qaeda terrorists were planning to hijack planes as suicide weapons, make clear that this tragedy could have been avoided."

2. It astonishes me that . . .
. . . Kerry didn't make 9/11 and Bush's national security failure more of a campaign issue.

. . . my sister-in-law in the Midwest thinks * is going to protect her while I work next to the NY Stock Exchange knowing full well he won't.

. . . an incompetent fool can become National Security Adviser, fall asleep before 9/11 and then get a promotion.

. . . the 9/11 Commission Report addresses proportionally fewer questions than the Warren Commission Report.

. . . MSM suppresses all serious discussion of the 9/11 topic.

5. well put
..."his epic ranch vacation"

That's awesome.

Well it makes perfect sense why Bush initially rejected the idea of an independant 9/11 commission. His advisors feared the truth. Fortunately his administration would have looked much worse if they completely blocked the commission. So now we get this "February surprise" as it were.

It really takes some big brass ones to run a Presidential campaign on a national security platform right after you just ignored the largest national security threat in a generation.

A quick trip to FR shows the denial of the Bush-backers. Try keyword FAA and/or 9/11. They just won't accept that the ball was dropped or that the admin was in heavy CYA mode after 9/11.
