I had a hard time deciding where to put this editorial by Daniel Ruth...Lounge or here. It is hilariously funny to me in places, but it's also serious stuff. Finding an find an article in the paper denouncing the stupid doings of the Bush administration including his wife seems more prevalent than a few weeks ago even.

It was only a few days later that Laura Bush - Have Dewey Decimal System, Will Travel - showed up on PBS' ``NewsHour With Jim Lehrer'' to field more softballs from Lehrer than Larry King going mano a mano with Steve & Eydie.

Lehrer bore down on the Miss Marple of the Potomac, wanting desperately to know where the first lady had honed her gang-fighting skills."

2. This is just hilarious. And so true. Laura exhibits the backbone and

moxie of a slug. I still remember all the stuff she was going to do for Afgani women and girls.

10. I wrote him, too

Sometime last year mentioning a story of his that appeared on Smirking Chimp. He wrote back asking "What's 'Smoking Chimp'?" Admitted he wasn't much familiar with all the internet sites. He's still one of the best parts of Mother Trib.

how familiar you are with his work, but one thing he likes to do is make up names for people. Several years ago, when the Glazer's (father and 2 sons) bought the Bucs and wanted the city to pay for a new stadium, he wrote several columns about the situation. Started calling the sons the usual "Frick and Frack" or "Dumb and Dumber" but went into more inventive names over the weeks (his own or suggested). Mr. 'pede has the Trib on his bookmarks - we moved from Tampa in 2000 but he likes to see who's died - and I sometimes dip into a little Dan.
