Republicans taste their own medicine

DON'T you love it? Republicans, who occupy the White House courtesy of a 5-4 Supreme Court vote, are bellyaching because a unanimous three-judge federal appeals court panel has dared step in and postpone the jumped-up gubernatorial recall election in California. And just because faulty punch-card voting machines might disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters. The GOP can be very selective about judicial activism and is similarly choosy when it comes to equal protection.

They'll be as hypocritical as they like. It's power that matters to them, not consistency.

And as long as the media don't highlight their hypocrisy, the Republicans don't have to worry about how it looks.

I do worry about courts establishing a precedent for postponing elections because they are not convenient.
