NBC's 'West Wing' to Take More Bipartisan Approach

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - When NBC's White House drama "The West Wing (news - web sites)" returns next week for its fifth year, the most obvious difference from last season will be that John Goodman (news), not Martin Sheen (news), is calling the shots in the Oval Office as the famously liberal show gets more bipartisan.

I say screw that. If I want "bipartisanship" (read a slow slide Rightward) I'll watch Sunday morning pindits.

I think they will be in a church praying for Zoe
in the first episode...that's my church. :-)

I will stick with this show if it is still addresses
what's really happening in the country.

Ignore reports, pass off important issues, not attend overseas meetings, avoid connecting dots, having enforcement agencies drop the ball, the agents involved get rewarded, and then it blows up 9/11 style -- only on -- TV.

7. This has been my favorite show

of all times!! I don't want to see it change too much. However, I'm kinda hoping that John Goodman acting the ass will parallel Bush acting the ass and therefore reinforce the mistake in the White House.

I can't say this enough, I say it after every show is over, every week, and hope I get to continue this season...

He looks like a slob most of the time, and talks like an uncouth redneck. Anyone notice the bordering on harrassment comment? "You'd have to pay $2 extra for that at the Kit Kat club." when CJ was helping straighten his clothes.

11. I thought last night's show was great.

I was crying at the end when they were doing the montage with the beautiful music. The episode grabbed you at the beginning and held you until the very end.

Wish though they had left Sorkin write the first few episodes, would've loved to see where he was going with this. Read John Wells to his credit did want him to do that. Now I hope Wells doesn't turn WW in to another Third Watch (always thought that one could've been a good show but spends too much time with characters and their dysfunctional relationships off the job).

Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one who was crying!! Really, really moving.

The Kit Kat Club comment was made when Goodman walked up while CJ's assistant was trying to get the dog hair off the backside of CJ's skirt, before she straightened his tie. I thought, now there's a guy comfortable in what southern rednecks call "titty bars." :eyes:

I'm gald they're playing him for the southern-redneck-uncouth-cowboy. How much closer to the truth could one possibly get??
