And it just might. There's two types of decline and fall: sure and steady or swift and catastrophic. Now, EVERYTHING declines, so the * (mis)Administration will, also. I think, because they have gotten away with so much, they will have the swift and catastrophic type of collapse. I keep noticing more sarcasm and thinly-veiled impatience from people who were previously supportive of them or just indifferent. After a while, the pile of shit gets too stinky to hide...

9. Just a pipe dream, I am afraid...

The problem is that there is nothing new, it was known 7 months, before the election. People managed to vote against their economic and other interests and there is no change in sight.

A part of it is disinformation, but the problem is deeper. The vast majority in this country does believe that the US can do no wrong. That we are Americans first and Rep/Dems second. Remember the 90% approval for * after 9/11? As long as they can manufacture things like that, there is no change in sight.

At least, it will have to get seriously worse before it could get better. And I don't see it happening by 2006. Unfortunately :(
