Can a Liberal Be Happy With a Conservative and Vice Versa?

but now I am not so sure. The politics of the right are so diametric to everything I believe. The right has opted for separation, exclusion and vilification of all who disagree. With them or against them is all I can think.

2. My hubby is a repig...no politics shared with him....

Like all repigs, his temper flares up and he ends up calling me names like, welfare lover, communist, etc. He does know that I LOVE MY COUNTRY, but his way to win is to insult.

He watches that O'Reilly lier and listens to limpballs sometimes. One big problem we have, he is 12 years older(70 y.o) and that makes a lot of difference in our politics and even our music. I grew up attending demonstrations, dancing rock & roll and singing peace songs. He says that I'm part of the wacko generation. In all, we get along great in our marriage, but don't talk politics.

ON EDIT: Hmm, I sounded a little harsher than intended. It just made me laugh a little when I recall my own experiences trying to find a pattern to the way love comes into your life. Love is its own animal, and pays no heed to the silly things we get all sturm-und-drang about. I would far rather live a life filled with good love instead of good politics. If a bit of political incompatibility is the price to be paid for the love and friendship of an amazing person, then I consider it a bargain. :-)

I am married to a bleeding heart liberal, (like me) and we are still madly in love after more than 20 years. Not very scientific but that's my experience

I have uninformed friends but, frankly, If you are a friend of Bush, we are so far apart in our belief systems that there is no point. How can you respect someone who has no empathy or compassion? All they can possibly be is self centered and greedy! This is not the kind of person I would trust my friendship with.
