Senselessly Chasing Schiavo Rumors

Jeb Bush should put the Terri Schiavo tragedy behind him.

Barely a day after the release of Terri's autopsy results, the governor, in a letter to Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney Bernie McCabe, insinuated that Michael Schiavo may have played some sinister role in his wife's collapse 15 years ago.

Michael Schiavo could have left this case - and vilification - behind long ago. Logic tells us the only reason he continued to pursue it was to keep his promise to her.

There is no evidence that Michael was responsible for Terri's tragedy, only reckless rumors perpetuated by those who disagree with his decision to let Terri die. Now Bush has followed in that shameful tradition. He should butt out and let Terri rest in peace.
