Bush on path to ruin U.S. legacy of prosperity and liberty

Robyn Blumner
ST. PETERSBURG TIMES

For a man who has benefited so greatly through legacy and inheritance, President Bush seems determined to deprive future generations of Americans of their own.
The birthright of Americans goes well beyond the promise of a new crop of reality TV every fall. We have a national inheritance that has been cultivated through generations and which our leaders are responsible for stewarding. This includes: widely enjoyed prosperity and unalienable guarantees of liberty.
But Bush and his neocon cronies have set a course to undo our legacy. Bush is raiding the corpus of the trust and by the time he's finished, all principal -- and principles -- will have been depleted.

SNIP

In the best traditions of a banana republic, Bush is actively concentrating power and wealth. Friends of Bill walked away with nothing compared with the Friends of Bush. They are being given everything they want on a platter -- silver, of course -- and the spoils include what has been promised to you, me and future generations of Americans.

2. Yeah! I feel like we're in a "banana republic" sometimes...
especially with the nazi wing media giving the lyingspin on the bushwa...

If the media wouldn't lie then the truth would be known far and wide!

5. And now everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Newspapers who wouldn't
tolerate anyone "badmouthing" President UnElected are daily giving him a dose of what Bill Clinton got, with the big difference being that they are pointing out how the current administration lies about things that hurt the country and kill people. With Clinton is was a constant drubbing about something that was no one's damn business, except for Hillary.

Funny isn't it how things had to get so damn bad, i.e., redistricting in Texas, The Patriot Act being used for criminal (or suspected criminal) activity that didn't involve terrorist, the bankrupting of the Treasury, the outing of an agent of the U.S. Government (treason I have been told), Halliburton's no-bid contracts, the continuing deaths of American men and women, a demand for $87 billion dollars to build a country that these clowns destroyed while our own goes to hell in a handcart, the E.P.A. being forced to lie to New Yorkers about how bad the air was that they were breathing after the attact on the WTC, and a million more immoral and certainly criminal activities that these guys have been up to. This list is only the tip of the iceberg. The deceit about the reasons we just "had" to attack Iraq are the most damning of all, with the job losses and the crumbling economy and the tax breaks for the rich running close behind. When you start making these lists you see that there is a pattern of corruption here, a corruption that runs deep into the soul of this administration.

Millions of people knew that this guy and his buddies were bad rabbits to begin with. But the theft of the 2000 election made it apparent that the rule of law and 200 plus years of democratic tradition meant nothing to this bunch. But they let him commandeer the White House and our government. And now the media is starting to wake up. About frigging time. They're in no small part responsible for this mess that we are in now. In a phrase, they gave aid and comfort to the enemy. The enemy of our country, its traditions and laws, and its constitutional process. I for one am not impressed. The very least that I have to say is IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME THAT THEY DO EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO RIGHT THE VERY WRONGS THAT THEY AIDED AND ABETTED THIS BUNCH OF THUGS IN COMMITTING.
