Jim Hightower: Dean's Democratic Revival
Friday, July 08, 2005
"DEAN'S DEMOCRATIC REVIVAL"

At last, the Democratic leadership in congress says it's mad as hell and not going to take it any more!

What finally got these "leaders" off their sedentary duffs and into a full political howl? Not Bush's ongoing war of lies, not his endless giveaways to corporate power, not his disgraceful assault on social security...not anything Bush. It's Howard Dean that has riled them to action!

(snippet)

Dean has recently been taken to the woodshed by the party's senate leaders who were aghast that he has been openly critical of – you won't believe this – Republicans. Excuse me, but these Democrats are getting whalloped every day by a lying, conniving, thuggish regime of attack dogs led by the snarling likes of Dick Cheney and Tom DeLay – and they're scolding their own party's chariman for showing some political spunk? "I'm very concerned about anything that is unnecessarily divisive," tut-tutted one of the milquetoast senators.

Hello, clueless ones: This ain't a tea social – it's a brawl! The Bushites are stealing our country from us while you're fussing over table manners.

9.  "milquetoast senators"...I love it
I've become rather a fan of Dean in his current incarnation, and think these mewlings fromm his critics are dead giveaways to their actual allegiances.

If more Democrats were telling the truth...telling the American people that the Republicans in power are stealing the bread off their tables, the desks from their schools, the medicine from Grandpa's bedside table, we wouldn't have to worry about stolen elections because they wouldn't even be close.

At least Dean sounds like a Democrat. With Democrats voting for CAFTA and the Bankruptcy Bill, that alone is something to celebrate.

And those idiots in Washington wonder why people think the Dems stand for nothing.

11. Maybe What Is Needed Is A Monthly "Scream"
I would have no problem with Dean throwing a monthly "Scream" at the annointed of the Democratic Leadership Council. We're long past this "bipartisan" crap. I think I have to figure out how to get Galloway to run in my district.
