"I am not sure what happened in the Karl Rove/Joseph Wilson/Valerie Plame Affair or subsequent events, but let's look into the hypothetical crystal ball. In the last six years that I have known Karl Rove, I have observed that he never gets caught with his pants down. I will say it again: Karl never gets caught with his pants down."

Interesting thought, and it could come true ... but they (thinking individuals in the Senate) have the ability to take this case to where it should rightfully end ... come on, guys, don't drop the ball here!

1. And how do they know this?
This seems like it is more of an editorial than late breaking news. My own belief is that Rove is going down, but probably not in the way we would like him to. He will no longer be able to work with * but he will be pardoned.

2. This article has it about right.
It's become clear, even to the likes of the NYTimes, that Rove did not break the law. If that is the case, Bush is not obligated to fire him and I think a majority of the American people probably think so as well.

3. IF he did indeed leak the name (or "identity") of the operative,
how did he NOT break the law?

4. Not so fast.
There's the issue of exposing Plame's identity. But there are also issues of the conspiracy and the coverup. Rove is wily enough to wiggle out of this, but he is also arrogant enough finally to get caught committing perjury.
