We are in the midst of a remarkable Washington scandal, and we still don't have a name for it. Leakgate, Rovegate, Wilsongate - none of the suggestions have stuck because none capture what's so special about the current frenzy to lock up reporters and public officials.

The closest parallel is the moment in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" when members of a mob eager to burn a witch are asked by the wise Sir Bedevere how they know she's a witch.

15. Somehow, It all seems a distraction

from the real issues. Rove is as despicable as they come,and I would love to see him drawn and quartered for all of the pain he has inflicted on people over the years. But that will do nothing to change the fact that Bush and company are RAPIDLY destroying everything good in America and turning us from a superpower into a used to be great country.

I haven't been able to post much of anything since the election - I pretty much find everything coming in the news these days depressing as hell. It is especially disheartening to see all of the democrats laying down on issues like the bankruptcy bill and the Delay ethics violations.

We need a hero, and it ain't John Kerry or John Edwards. And getting Karl Rove "fired" isn't going to change a damned thing.

Karl Rove has made a career of smearing opponents with baseless accusations, swept up his footprints and wiped away his fingerprints, and then muddied the waters when attempts to hold him responsible are exerted. Now it's "poor Karl". His feeling are hurt? His reputation sullied? Irreparable harm?

This sounds like Karl orchestrated his own outing with the purpose of turning it around to his advantage -- again.
