Our Founders & The Unbalance of Power by Al Gore
In advance of the American presidential election that is rapidly approaching, Former Vice President Al Gore gave a speech in June, 2004 at Georgetown University Law Center that centers on the great distance between America today and the very principles America was founded on. While his main focus is the deceitful Bush administration and the wrongful invasion of Iraq, it is a short step to apply his same reasoning to the equally unjust invasion of Afghanistan and the pending invasion of Iran. With voter turnout expected to be at an all time low, and with the electorate faced with two candidates that support the same depraved foreign policy – America this one is for you.

1. I wish he'd run in 2008.
I'm still so pissed. What a chance this nation lost. A president who gets it, versus a president on cocaine 24/7... You decide. Oh wait, you don't get to decide, do you? That was the old America.

3. I hope Al Gore runs for Prez in 2008
We need him. He certainly offers a voice and vision in tune with the ideals of our Founding Fathers.

Even progressives are starting to realize that Gore would be the best choice for Dems in 2008 -- "Resurrection" by David Podvin http://makethemaccountable.com/podvin/more/050609_Resurrection.htm

4. The distance between the capabilities of Gore and Bush
is staggering. Gore the primary champion of the internet, the top creation of the 20th century according to CNN. Gore knew over 15 years ago what Republicans are just now coming around to accept, that global warming created by man's burning of fossil fuels poses catastrophic consequences for all life on earth. Gore's spiritual book on this subject "Earth In The Balance" is just one example of the depth and knowledge of this man.
Gore said this in the spring of 2002 when most all other Democrats were in lockstep with Bush on going to war with Iraq.

<snip>
"This is because President Bush is presenting us with a proposition that contains within itself one of the most fateful decisions in our history: a decision to abandon what we have thought was America's mission in the world - a world in which nations are guided by a common ethic codified in the form of international law -- if we want to survive.
<snip>
I believe that we can effectively defend ourselves abroad and at home without dimming our principles. Indeed, I believe that our success in defending ourselves depends precisely on not giving up what we stand for."

Can anyone tell me anything that Bush has ever done that comes close?
Bush was enabled to power by the corporate owned MSM because they did not want a real leader in power that would look out for the American People, because the corporate media has not looked out for them in years and they were upset with Gore for going over their heads and giving the American People the internet. This why they basically did what the coward Tonya Harding would have done in the same circumstances.
