Guest Viewpointl: FBI translator gagged, fired for speaking up

David Jenkins just wrote an editorial to the Press & Sun Bulletin newspaper's web site (pressconnects.com) in Binghamton, NY to highlight Sibel Edmonds' case.

We need to keep echoing this stuff folks! We cannot let the MSM bury this story. It is something that needs to be heard by the average person soon!

Guest Viewpointl: FBI translator gagged, fired for speaking up

BY W. DAVID JENKINS III

There has been much in the news as of late concerning the outing of a CIA operative, Valerie Plame, by senior members of the Bush administration in retaliation for her husband Joseph Wilson's "outing" the administration's practice of manipulating intelligence.

As the political firestorm grows around the White House, there is another story that needs our attention -- that of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds.

Sibel Edmonds was born in Iran and raised in Turkey and studied in the United States. She is fluent in several Arabic languages and was hired by the FBI in the days after 9/11 to help translate intelligence acquired prior to and after that terrible day. However, she discovered there were certain "rules" being implemented by the Department of Justice which Edmonds felt undermined the efforts of agents in the field fighting the war on terror.

One of these rules was the intentional withholding of certain intelligence from field agents. If intelligence regarding terrorist cells and their activities (i.e.; laundering drug money, weapons smuggling etc.) also implicated "certain countries" or "certain American business interests," that intelligence, no matter how vital, was not forwarded to agents.

1. It is so important for Sibel's story to get out. She could provide
answers that would tie the entire Bush cabal up and her story would make it a lot easier to connect all the dots. I'm really surprised she is still alive and I wish her well and think she is a true hero.

2. Sibel Edmonds Calls Current 9/11 Investigation Inadequate
http://baltimorechronicle.com/050704SibelEdmonds.shtml

....JH: Let me read you a short quote from Dr. Griffin's book, quoting from War and Globalization: The Truth Behind September 11 by Michel Chossudovsky and ask you to comment on it. "...The transfer of money to Atta <$325,000>, in conjunction with the presence of the ISI chief in Washington during the week, the missing link behind 9/11....The evidence confirms that al-Qaeda is supported by Pakistan's ISI (and it is amply documented that) the ISI owes its existence to the CIA."

SE: I cannot comment on that. But I can tell that once, and if, and when this issue gets to be, under real terms, investigated, you will be seeing certain people that we know from this country standing trial; and they will be prosecuted criminally.

3. Hasn't the FBI counterintelligence division been taken over...

...by the National Director of Intelligence? Isn't it called the National Security Service or something like that? I assumed that this was to prevent future Colleen Rowleys, John O'Neills or Sibel Edmonds from doing any independent fact finding.

May be the only thing standing between the US going the Way of Nazi Germany circa 1933.

Sure hope she's not suicided any time soon!
