He's got a conviction, and from what I can see, he hasn't stayed out of trouble and he isn't "gainfully employed". I think he should have to go through the same procedure as any other American in the same situation, with character references and so on (if he can find any positive ones, at this rate).

had to pay $200 american to get in, then i had to send a letter to the canadian government who then decided that my 25 year old misdemeanor wouldnt keep me out in the future. no refund though:(
