Murdoch's "News Corp is a nothing but a badly performing business"
# As an ex-News Ltd employee I've been telling anyone who will listen that the corporation that runs the odious Fox News is a pack of cards built on debt..now the financial writers are finally waking up :

Shock! News screws punters

By Alan Kohler
August 13, 2005

"It is very disheartening that investors and otherwise sensible journalists continue to fall for the Rupert Murdoch charisma machine and ignore the obvious fact that News Corp is a nothing but a badly performing business mostly run by untrustworthy people.

Murdoch's and the board's decision to simply renege on their agreement not to extend the poison pill that protects Murdoch family control beyond 12 months is quite breathtaking. That promise was made in person to various corporate governance advisers and conveyed in writing to shareholders and the Federal Court. It was the only reason the vote to relocate the company to America was passed."

1. You think last week's news that RM is taking over as publisher
of the New York Post is tied in somehow?

5. likely has twenty houses. One for each vacation spot for a month
and then on to the next vacation.

PS ... A million US citizens live on a piece of sidewalk, where they die at three times the normal rate.

8. Absolutely
My cousin and his wife own a condo in Beijing -- but for them it makes sense because she's mainland Chinese and travels there for family and to meet with her publisher.

For other Americans, owning property in places with unpleasant regimes is all about business -- a capitalist like Murdoch will look to invest wherever he thinks he can make a buck.

9. May Rupert's empire have as ugly a fall as those he supports are likely
to have should the MSM ever fulfill its sacred duty to keep the public informed instead of acting as a shill and propaganda arm for those in power.
