3. Wow, that is seriously disturbing.

Considering that it wouldn't have taken more than two or three people to orchestrate the leak, the fact that so many people were involved is ludicrous.

Rule #1 in trying to keep a secret - tell (and involve) as few people as possible.

Are these people so incompetent that it takes two dozen of them to leak a name to Bob Novak? Unbelievable.
