Sen. John Kerry Blisters Republicans

SEATTLE - Sen. John F. Kerry (news, bio, voting record) told state legislators Friday the Democratic Party doesn't need to undergo an extreme makeover, saying "the last thing America needs is a second Republican Party."

After blistering Republicans on everything from Iraq to health care, Kerry said Democrats have an opportunity to rebuild nationally by simply addressing the concerns that affect people's daily lives — energy, transportation, health care and security.

"We have to go out and fight for the real issues that make a difference in the lives of the American people and we don't need some great lurch to the right or lurch to the left or redefinition of the Democratic Party," the Massachusetts Democrat said. "The last thing America needs is a second Republican Party."

. . .

In an arch comment about the president's recent statement in favor of teaching "intelligent design" as an alternative to the theory of evolution, Kerry said, "I think we ought to be getting some intelligent design in our policy in Iraq."

(Edited to add above para!!)

5. I'm not sure
I understand your comment.

Granted I wish he'd've been more vocal and agressive about the theft of the election at the time - but it WAS a theft, plain and simple. Just like 2000.

I think he - like Gore - recognized the futility of trying to fight and prove that - and abdicated in favor of not causing out and out riots in the streets. Which, in retrospect, would have been preferable to debacle bushco.

7. Actually, I think Dean and the Kerry brothers are taking a different route
to get at the machines. Dean has been encouraging smart, savvy Dems to run for Sec of State all over the country, and Cameron Kerry is likely running in Mass.

This tells me that they plan to get full legal access to the machines to see exactly how they operate, have them tested PUBLICLY, and gain the access to those who OPERATE the machines from within.

I think this is a pretty damn smart route to take.

6. in speech after speech during the campaign
Kerry blistered Bush and the Republicans.

Almost none of it made it into the MSM. Instead, we got the Republican spin of who Kerry was and what he stood for.

That's the sick joke.

12. It was disgusting
Once CNN interupted a Kerry speech for shrub because it was "breaking news". What a bunch of crap. Seeing Kerry speak was really something.
