His belief that he does not have to explain anything will certainly restrict his social circle. If the war he wanted continues to go the way it seems to be going, he may be reduced to long conversations with the vice president, the secretary of defense and the secretary of state. They may be the only Americans who will not ask him to explain how he could have been so foolish. No wonder he wants to spend his time on a bicycle.
He is not going to listen, so there is not much to be gained by talking to him. In the end, it could be just him and Cheney. Which brings me to this point: I think that, God and his health willing, Dick Cheney may well be the Republican nominee to succeed Bush, which would make him the oldest man ever elected. Who else is going to defend what is going on? Dynasty or no dynasty, I'll bet even Jeb Bush does not want to do that, to say nothing of John McCain, who seems to be Hillary Clinton's new best friend.
