This week President Bush reportedly will be making an effort to reinforce his logic for the war in Iraq. This is probably a reaction to the political heat his administration has been feeling from the protest at his Crawford ranch led by Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq.
It has been established that the reasons President Bush told us we went to war did not exist. The war has been quite costly for the President politically. The insurgency appears to be getting stronger and more determined. Attacks on U.S. troops continue on a daily basis. Billions of dollars have been spent on this war and it seems that there is no exit strategy in place. The Army is preparing for at least four more years of war in Iraq. President Bush calls this a “noble cause” while he himself acknowledges he started a war on faulty intelligence. This should be an interesting week of news as the President tries to make his case for war again.
