Singin' the Crawford blues

By Lisa Fabrizio
web posted August 22, 2005

If it's August and the press is languishing in Crawford, Texas, it's time for the annual Bush vacation media bash. This means that unless there's a kidnapping or runaway bride story to hold the nation's interest, the media will instead launch into their favorite summer pastime; turning the president's visit home into a four-week sentence of derision and contempt.

The media seem not only offended that the president has the audacity to take a month off but that he persists in doing so in the middle of media nowhere. Unlike Bill Clinton who, until he left office, had no private residence to call home, President Bush dares prefer the dry dust of Texas to the haughty climes of chic, liberal playgrounds.

Beginning with his first year in office, his month-long trek to Crawford has occasioned wrath and scorn from the left and their media wing. Barely six months into his first term, USA Today was already chiding with the headline, “Poll Finds Most are Put Off by Bush Vacation." They immediately tagged him as another lazy cowboy...

More stinky cheese with that whine... http://www.enterstageright.com/archive/articles/0805/0805vacation.htm

1. more lies about the "liberal media" ...
When they're so far to the right they deserve Julius Streicher -style prosecution.

4. But the thing they conveniently forget is
When Clinton bumbled, his side called him out on it. The left never hid their criticism when it was called for. Clinton took his bumps and bruises as he deserved them (and, YES, he did deserve them at times); NAFTA, welfare reform (without address corporate welfare), don't-ask-don't-tell, abandoning Lani and Jocelyn to the wolves, signing the Defense of Marriage Act.

Make no mistake about it BC wasn't perfect, but then NO LEADER IS. However, if you're a Freeper, GOD, JESUS, ALLAH, AND MOSES had better watch their step around the Bush King.

5. It's not the pain I enjoy.
As a loyal L&O junkie, I find that I'm obligated to check in on Michael Moriarty in his virtual padded cell.

6. Those must be the same liberal playgrounds that parroted
Republican Talking points as if it was gospel, the same ones that stood by silently at the least and in many cases were culpable in slandering Al Gore ever since 1998 with the he claimed to have invented the internet bullshit, the same ones that turned a 180 overnight overruling their own focus groups and said Bush won any of the 2000 debates, etc. The same liberal playgrounds that enabled the corrupt incompetent one to power in 2000 as opposed to a visionary statesman. They are not liberal, they are modern day courtesans, they have lost touch with the people. They are only just beginning to expose Bush for what he is because he and his neocon pals turned on them with the CIA outing treason scandal. Five corporations own at least 80+% of the entire MSM, they do not believe in "We The People", they believe in U.S.A. Inc.

10. And who sez he's lazy?
I think he worked very hard at wrecking this economy, blowing our world standing, and leading men and women to slaughter while gladhanding "his base."
