Clintons' Hobnobbing With GOP Calculated
One Clinton jets to Alaska and Iraq with Republicans, and enthusiastically sponsors legislation with GOP lawmakers who impeached her husband. The other plays golf with former President Bush and accepts assignments from the current one.

All this bipartisan snuggling by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Clinton has some Democrats and Republicans questioning their motives.

7. The Clinton's PR Machine is heavily at work in this puff piece.
:puffpiece: Us Lefties are getting under the skin of the DLC. Time for Bill and Hillary to do some explaining for the "company they keep."

It's kind of disheartening for us Democrats who supported them against the vilest of Repug attacks to watch this stuff going on. And, it does answer why they didn't fight harder over what happened in Florida in 2000.

11. Gore ran away from Clinton for Gods sake
Don't be like the cons who use Clinton as their excuse for EVERYTHING! Gore made it clear he wanted nothing to do with Bill during the 2000 race so why would he want him involved in the recount??

Hey, why work with he other side? We wouldn't want thing actually getting done in D.C. now would we? It would also mean no bogeyman to blame for some people's problems either. But hey, let's stay the course. Sure the Dems are stuck in the '70s and the repubs are bashing their brains in, but we really don't need to change.

I swear this is becoming like parliamentarian politics, where every issue is a test of "party loyalty". To hell with that!

This only proves one thing: politics is stupid and it makes the people involved in and those interested in really stupid. Is anybody willing to take a step back and realize just how stupid all of piddling crap is? Anyone? Or am I all alone in this?

15. The Clintons are no saviors.

Look the Clintons are nothing more than some genuinely good kids who played by the rules and rose up the ladders they were given....nothing to be scoffed at.

However, they are not the American dream that they espouse to be and that everyone else can be too.

Yes they came from nothing, but they served in the service of power....always....in a way that allowed them to give the appearance of caring. I'm not say they are completely bad, they do have a good heart, but in every dysfunctional family there is an enabler...and the heads of the Dems have very much become that......this is all in the family.

They were not ever....repeat....EVER looking to upset the tables.

The fact that Bill was a Rhodes alone should make that clear.

17. We really need to get over the HERO WORSHIP
It is one of the worst things that can happen to those deeply concerned about politics. Statements like: "I trust the Clintons to do what's best", "Hm....to win elections and get things done, maybe? DAMN THEM!", etc., show us to be simply following the charismatic Leader, believing in whatever the Leader says, does, etc.

Pathetic. Frightening.

Or, it's something else...

18. The Clinton's believe in the theory of "Triangularization"
which the pathetic Dickhead Morris came up with--to co-opt GOP ideas and themes. If we get the Clinton's it will only be GOP-lite. We need real change, not simply a "kinder, gentler version of W."

21. Another psychic journalist
who can telepathically read lists of sinister motives coming from the minds of the Clintons.

Bill Clinton was a Yale Law School graduate who could have made himself very rich in a very short time. He chose to go home to Arkansas, and work for next to nothing to help people. So, Bill isn't about the money.

Being governor of Arkansas was far from the most powerful position he could have achieved. So, Bill wasn't all about power.

Bill may get carried away with his sexual desires, but he had crowds of women to pick from and chose the one who wasn't beautiful but was very intelligent. So, Bill's not all about the sex.

I can't think of anything sinister the Clintons have done at all, other than Bill lying when he got himself in a jam.

I'm not sure, but I think that Ron Fournier, the author of this article, is a RW propagandist. I've watched ABC lately and they have a definite strategy of trying to compete with Faux by being just as or even more dishonest.

I'd like the next psychic journalist to read the sinister motives of ABC and Ron Fournier.

37. Hello from Germany,
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:58 PM by Dirk39
did you ever watch the 1987 US-documentary "Mena Connection"? This was made long before he became the presidential candidate for the so-called Democrats.

"work for next to nothing to help people"

I guess, Clinton's friendship with the Bush-Clan goes back to Clinton and Bush's father being involved in the drug-smuggling for Iran-Contra during the 80ies. And Clinton's money for his election came from this crime. And the Bush-Clan knows that Clinton will never ever talk about this or offend them, 'cause they know about his role in Arkansas. It's not just that Clinton did everything in Arkansah but to help the people, it's far worse.
Clintons' Hobnobbing With GOP isn't Calculated. The Clintons know very well that when the criminal Bush-gang will be brought to justice, it's the end of the Clintons, too. This is one of the dirtiest chapters in the history of the USA.
Clinton was a no-one, rather known for being corrupt and incompetent. He has turned Arkansas into a garbage dump. The way he acted after these teenagers were murdered in Arkansas stinks to heaven.

And then, all of a sudden, he was part of the Bilderburgers and two years later he became the presidential candidate for the "Democrats".
One more time the American Dream became reality, and turned out to be a very pragmatic nightmare.
Just my two cents from Germany,
Dirk

30. Such calculated ambiguity does not help to create trust or a following.
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 06:37 PM by Dover
So regardless of where their 'true' allegiance is, just the fact that their position can't be determined creates mistrust or wariness.
By trying to be cameleon-like, and all things to all people, they accomplish the opposite.

___________________________________________________________________

From the article:

Liberal leaders fault the Clinton strategy, arguing that voters need to see stark differences between Democrats and Republicans, particularly on Iraq. Some say voters are more skeptical about Sen. Clinton's authenticity than her ideology.

"I don't want to bash Bill and Hillary, because they're friends of mine, but I do have a difference of opinion about how to take back the House and the Senate," said Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, a presidential candidate in 2004.

35. democrats and republicans are irrelevant
it is the powers behind that make the moves. Perhaps Bilderbergers. Perhaps some others. But they call the shots. A republican this time. Perhaps next time a democrat. Keep the populace interested. Keep them controlled. Keeped them diverted. Keep the money pouring into the coffers of the corporations. Keep the CONTROL. We chattle are simply that. Go ahead and maintain self-supporting illusions. Freedom, Justice.

If any seriously think it is any other way.... they're seriously naive.
