Bush Strafes New Orleans
Bush Strafes New Orleans
Where is our Huey Long?
by Greg Palast
Friday, September 2, 2005
The National Public Radio news anchor was so excited I thought she'd piss on herself: the President of the United States had flown his plane down to 1700 feet to get a better look at the flood damage! And there was a photo of our Commander-in-Chief taken looking out the window. He looked very serious and concerned.

That was yesterday. Today he played golf. No kidding.

1. Palast is a real Democrat
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't checked in on Palast in a while; he always hits it right down the middle.

It looks like we're fresh out of Huey Longs right now. Still, NO Mayor Nagin is plenty pissed; maybe he'll be able to ride the wave of disgust. After all, nobody knew who Huey was in 1926.

4. Kicked and nominated
Maybe the article just leaves DUers speechless. Or maybe there's so much outrageous shit going on that even the biggest turds don't stand out. I do not understand why this post has received so little response. Maybe, Ray, you should also post this in GD with the heading "* goes from NO to the links" or "* hates NO because so many Catholics lived there."

This one really pist me off!

The Rethugs are naturally the party of the rich and powerful. There is no need for a second party for the rich and powerful. The job's been taken.

There is no point to a party of the people + the rich & powerful. It is a chimera.

What's needed is a party of the people. It's needed so badly. If the Democrats cannot figure out how to be the party of the people even when former governor Bush has fucked up so many things so badly, then I do not know why there would be a Democratic Party.
