Bin Laden's whereabouts remains mystery 4 years after 9/11 attacks
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2005-09/11/content_3472731.htm

KABUL, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- While the world is commemorating the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States, the whereabouts of the alleged mastermind of the strike, Osama Bin Laden (OBL), still remains a mystery.

On Sept. 11, 2001, alleged associates of OBL targeted the twin skyscrapers of the World Trade Center in New York and Pentagon in Washington. The deadly strikes forced the sole superpower to face new safety challenges in the new century.

Immediately after the attacks, US President Bush pointed the finger at al-Qaida chief OBL and warned his host Mullah Mohammad Omar, the elusive supreme leader of Taliban and head of the world's most isolated regime, to hand over the suspect.

Omar, who termed the attacks on the United States as a wrath of God, rejected President Bush's stern warning by saying, "Afghans cannot hand their guest over to his enemy."

Now there is a headline you won't ever see in any US newspaper.

5. Anybody looked at Crawford?
Sarcasm - but really, the last Dubya referred to him, he said he wasn't interested anymore, which made me think they had him on ice (so to speak) doing tapes whenever they needed them. There have been a few leaks that he was in Pakistan getting monthly checks from him family - and the leaks are quickly ridiculed, but never categorically denied.

11. they couldn't have nightline going "the hunt for bin laden: day 1,461"
and they couldn't count on finding bin laden. so they downplayed capturing him, knowing full well that IF the do capture him, they can play it back up like crazy.

13. I totally agree
The whole thing appears to be set up. I think he was probably on the White House payroll like every other terrorist in that administration.

6. He's sweaty, tired and feeling just a bit thirsty right now .
Sammy just won a match of clay court doubles with his usual partner, the nephew of the Agha Khan, and is looking forward to dinner and his usual seat at the Baccarat table in the back room of the Grand Casino in Monte Carlo.

In plain sight, as they say.

15. I can't believe Americans accept this four years after 9/11. Bin Laden
should be dead, why people voted for four more years of ineptness and embarrassment is beyond me. The UK had it right, "Can 40 million people really be that stupid."

Thanks for kicking us in the teeth when we're down - 9/11 anniversary and 1 week after the worst disaster in U.S. history to America's most beloved city. It should be mandatory for DUer's to get up to speed in the Election Results and Discussion forum before posting comments like yours.

19. I'm on your side, I didn't 'kick you in the teeth when you're down."
Who do you think you are to insinuate any such thing? I've been on DU for awhile and I'm sorry, but 'kicking US in the teeth?" Wake up, anyone who voted for * doesn't deserve anything but relentless accountability, * allowed 9/11 on his watch and everyone looked the other way, * forgot about Bin Laden while everyone looked toward Iraq and waved their flags. I know the f'king results are fake, in fact, I refuse to participate in another election until the voting system in America is fixed. That night they stole the election once again and no one up-rose and revolted, was the night democracy died in our own country. I've been depressed ever since. So don't even come on this board and try to divide me from you by saying, "comments like yours," you can talk like that on right wing radio and in your church, but get off your high horse with your arrogant comments on DU. Next time you want to use segregated words, think twice.
