WASHINGTON, DC, United States (UPI) -- Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the perpetrator of al-Qaida`s terror and violence in Iraq, now appears set on instigating a full-fledged civil war between the country`s Shiite and Sunni communities.
The dangers of an intra-Muslim conflagration in Iraq are many; Fighting between the country`s Shiites and Sunnis could easily spill beyond the porous borders of that fractured country, enflaming large areas of the volatile Arab World.
As Iraqi President Jalal Talabani told the U.N. General Assembly, Thursday, 'The country`s future is still unclear.'
Continued fighting in Iraq could drag U.S. and Coalition forces in Iraq into a deeper quagmire, of which the outcome is unknown, or it could result in breaking up the country into three separate states -- a Kurdish state in the north, a Sunni in the center and a Shiite in the south. However, each of these comes with their own set of problems.
