Who Will Bush Tap As Next Court Nominee?
http://news.yahoo.com/fc/us/supreme_court
this is a one paragraph article
WASHINGTON - President Bush's supporters want him to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor with a rock-solid conservative jurist, but Bush's low poll numbers have given liberals hope he'll nominate a moderate to avoid a raucous fight in the Senate. "The real question is, `What is he trying to accomplish here? How much does the president want to radically shift the court right rather than try to get positive things done in the rest of his presidency?'" said Elliot Mincberg, counsel with the liberal People for the American Way.

could we hope for some sanity? Nah

1. Its not in his nature to be concilatory or
"work with others." He will pick as far right a wingnut as he can find. Count on it.

9. It doesn't matter what his poll numbers are- he's got his political
capital to spend. He'll pick someone who'll make Roberts look like a moderate.

10. He could appoint his dog and the Dems would role over - most, not all
But enough to guarantee the vote in favor of whomever his corporate puppet masters tell him to nominate! Because most of the dems drink from the same trough

13. Screw it -- My hat's in the ring!!
I figure if Roberts can be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court with only two years experience as a judge at any level, then I don't see any reason why I should be excluded from consideration.

Granted, I'm not a lawyer or anything like that. But I think I'd look damned fine in one of those black robes, especially if I wear my Batman mask leftover from last Halloween.

Holy Stare Decicis!!
