1. Underreported in all the recent Rovian media spin on the economy

"According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, 265,000 adults stopped looking for work in August, the highest
monthly total since March 2001. The total number of workers who have stopped searching has ballooned to more than half a
million, the highest number of discouraged workers in nine years."

I don't think all of these folks will be shopping till they drop as the media is crowing that they will
at Christmas time.

the article is borne out by my personal experience the past 5 months. No one's happy to hear from me once I bring up looking for job opportunities.

3. indeed... despite this alleged 'recovery'

there are simply no jobs out there. Repugs are saying: "look, the stock market is improving, that means the recession is over." but if that were true, there would be increased employment.

oh yeah, I forgot. There IS increased employment... in India. :eyes:
