How Prayers Poll: Debunking myths about the religious right.
http://slate.msn.com/id/2089641/

nah, this one isn't at all BIASED or anything. Clip:

So far Republicans have been far more sophisticated at understanding religious voting patterns than Democrats have. I suspect it's because religion gives the willies to a lot of secular liberals, who just happen to be the folks who run political campaigns and cover them for the media. Perhaps the biggest religion question of the 2004 campaign will be whether the Democratic nominee can talk about his faith without gagging.

1. Bunk - nah, the Right is just more callous and willing to exploit religion
when its useful. Without a blanch. Look at Cheney and tell me he could actually enter a church without it caving in on him. The Right understands religious/voting behavior "better" than the libsbecause they actively seek to prey on those who would trust them with their faith and dollars. I wonder how many of the sleazy televangelists in the last 2 or 3 decades have been conservative republicans.

2. repugs understand HYPOCRITES
since their ranks are riddled with them.

Don't want to have your hypocritical worldview shaken up? Vote repug.

Want to say one thing and do another? Vote repug.

("Throw all those druggies in jail! Now hold on while I pop a dozen Oxycontin pills *gulp* *gulp*. Ah, much better")

Want to beat your breast as a pious Christian, yet waddle up to the trough for some juicy tax cuts, funded on the backs of the poor? Vote repug.

("Now let's see...where's that 'blessed are the tax-cutters' section of the bible? It's got to be in here somewhere, Georgie said so.")

Want to tout "family values", then ditch your wife for a newer model? Or just fool around on the side? Vote repug.

Life is just *so* much easier when you don't have the live by the precepts that you want to force on everyone else. Vote repug.

3. We believe the "Christian" vote is ours for the taking!
The Republican "Greedy Old Party" is no more the "party of Christ" than it is the "Party of Lincoln", but Democrats have been letting them get away with that lie, although everybody just laughs when they claim to be Lincoln's allies.

We've been trying in vain to tell the Democratic Party to wake up and use all the arguments we've offer them FREE to prove that they are entitled to the votes of any voter who is serious about following Jesus Christ, because have proven themselves infinitely better at putting the teaching of Jesus Christ into practice PERSONALLY as well as PUBLICLY than has the Greedy Old Party : See
http:/LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/Democrats &
http:/LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/Graphs &
http:/LiberalsLikeChrist.Org/Liberals .

And we even show Democrats how to defend their stance Pro-Choice and Pro gay equality, and for Separation of Church & State, etc., etc.
