White House fights back on Katrina tape

By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY Fri Mar 3, 7:57 AM ET

.........

• The White House fought back against new efforts by Louisiana officials and Democrats in Washington to portray President Bush as being out of touch and dishonest about what he knew in the hours and days after New Orleans flooded.

In a news release titled it said the tape shows Bush taking appropriate steps to deal with the emergency response.

"President Bush participated in briefings, phone calls and conversations throughout this process," deputy press secretary Trent Duffy said.

The news release also noted that in a transcript of an Aug. 29 videoconference on the day New Orleans started flooding, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco reported to federal officials that "we have not breached the levee at this point in time."....

1. Pelosi wants an "independent, 9/11-style commission' to investigate.

• House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., used the tape to reiterate her calls for an independent, 9/11-style commission to investigate the federal government's poor response to Katrina. "It speaks very clearly to the fact that ... the administration's response was inadequate," she said of the video.

3. How much you want to bet that Blanco vidconference was prior to the breach
Probably an early morning conference. Which is why the time of the conference was left out of the BushPravda release

Bushevik liars are so very predictable. They don't even try very hard to make their lies consistent anymore, so great is their contempt for the Imperial Subjects of Amerika.

I suppose I can't blame them. If I had engineered a thrid of the nation into Nazi-level delusion (like not Nazi-level violence, which probably is coming within the century), a third into Good German-level apathy and disinformedness, and the last third into intimidated scared bunnies, and I had a perfect record of scot-free criminality lasting more than five years, I guess I wouldn't work as hard on my lies either.

Why bother?

4. Does it really matter
When Blanco's conference was? I mean was she the only person telling Bush what was going on? Did he take her word over all others?

5. How come no one in the news has shown that picture of Bush playing guitar
the day after Katrina hit?

He was involved, just not with Katrina.
