1. Is it too much to ask for the USA to donate tents to the homeless?
I still don't understand why we can't build enough shelters. It seems tents would be even cheaper. Sounds like a cruel response to homelessness, but I'll bet many of them would appreciate the shelter.

2. Grinding the faces of the poor is a sovereign right of the well-off,
and it must not be infringed.

5. Someone came up with beehive shaped shelters
out of a liquid cement like product that could be put up in a few minuts, be fitted with a hatch that locked, provide privacy and insulation against the elements, and broken down and biodegraded when it was no longer needed. I read about it a good 20 years ago.

Why hasn't this been done? Cheap, biodegradable shelter that would offer basic human dignity that homeless people are not finding on steam grates or in doorways. My gawd, why the hell can't we do at least this much for them?

Shelters are not the answer. The dormitory style beds provide no privacy, no human dignity, and lend themselves to efficient spread of communicable diseases like TB.

Until we manage to throw pretentious yuppies out of inner city mansions and turn them back into rooming houses for marginal workers, I don't think this country will have the will to provide housing for the weakest of us.

That is our shame.

4. The homeless in Amerika have jail cells.
Outlaw them, arrest them, & incarcerate them, truly the "invisible poor"!
