Tegucigalpa, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) US troops opened military exercises in Honduras on Friday, amid increased condemnation by social and political groups, and municipal authorities who say the maneuvers are an interventionist provocation.

War materiel aboard USS George Washington aircraft carrier docked at Port Tegucigalpa to participate in the "Partnership of the Americas" war games that will end in May.

US Southern Command Lt. Col. Jose Antonio Espinoza said soldiers will remain in Honduras over a week "to improve coordination between military forces and rescue units in cases of natural disasters."

His remarks followed those of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who said those exercises represented a threat for his nation and for Cuba.

1. Here we go. So, what kind of "natural disasters" are we talking here?
Um, shouldn't these guys be ON THE GULF COAST working on their "coordination"?

And, they're there over the objections of "municipal authorities"?

I wonder if a Mexican fleet sailed into San Francisco Bay and Gavin Newsom objected, how we'd feel about it?

2. I guess with Hugo Chavez mooning Bush every other day >>>
"Bush and Pax Americats" have to do something to chill the embarassment.

Meanwhile all of South America has turned its back on the Anglo Americanos.
