Church's Chicken expands outsourcing to India's Sonata
January 02, 2007 (IDG News Service) -- Fast-food chain Church’s Chicken is planning to outsource more IT functions to Sonata Software Ltd. in Bangalore, India, including application development and IT consulting.

The decision is a result of cost savings and the high quality of service that the company has already received from Sonata, said Harsha Agadi, president and CEO of Church's Chicken, an Atlanta-based chain owned by private equity fund Arcapita Inc.

Church’s Chicken moved its IT infrastructure management about a year ago from IBM to Sonata, a midsize outsourcing company. The deal was worth $5 million over five years.

The company has saved about 40% of its IT infrastructure management costs by offshoring to Sonata, Agadi said in an interview last week.

The savings that Sonata is generating has freed up cash for Church’s Chicken to open 20 new restaurants that will generate about $20 million of sales annually, according to Agadi.

1. How nice.
Off-shoring the high paid jobs made it easy for them to have lots of low paid jobs to offer Americans.

Well, I'm comforted.

2. Well, i don't think that I have been to Church's more than twice. I will NEVER
buy their chicken again. Go sell it to India!

I refuse to patronize American or foreign companies that are unpatriotic. Patriots support Americans.

5. I doubt that people in India want to eat Church's Chicken
They make much better chicken there themselves.

4. Terrific.
Cheap labor.

Outsourcing and unfair trade have made Americans expendable.

Corporations have moved on to greener pastures. They have newer models of consumers now elsewhere.

They appreciate the tax breaks the politicians give them.

Great.

When we get hungry, I suggest eating our politicians first. You can get past their putrid stench by doucing them in tabasco first.

6. I'll be saving 100% of the dollars spent at Church's Chicken...........
NOW that they're off MY MENU. Church's better get some southern fried chicken curry dishes for their new IT infrastructure management employees.

7. How many Americans lost their jobs as a result?
As far as I'm concerned, that is the only relevant question.

8. I so hope they end up getting bit in the ass for this.
I had their chicken all of once, because a friend wanted to get some of their fried okra and I like that too. It may as well have been okra-flavored fried salt by the time they were done with it. That was over 10 years ago and now I'm never going back.
