Maureen Dowd: Where’s His Right Hook?
Maureen Dowd: Where’s His Right Hook?
WASHINGTON

As I sit across from Barack Obama in his Senate office, I feel like Ingrid Bergman in “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” when she plays a nun who teaches a schoolboy who’s being bullied how to box.

I’m just not certain, having watched the fresh-faced senator shy away from fighting with the feral Hillary over her Hollywood turf, that he understands that a campaign is inherently a conflict.

The Democrats lost the last two excruciatingly close elections because Al Gore and John Kerry did not fight fiercely and cleverly enough.

After David Geffen made critical comments about Hillary, she seized the chance to play Godzilla stomping on Obambi.

As a woman, she clearly feels she must be aggressive in showing she can “deck” opponents, as she put it — whether it’s Saddam with her war resolution vote or Senator Obama when he encroaches on areas that she and Bill had presumed were wrapped up, like Hollywood and now the black vote.

If Hillary is in touch with her masculine side, Barry is in touch with his feminine side.

5. I'm not a man and a talented attack bitch is still an attack bitch.
She takes pleasure in using words to demasculinize Democratic men and masculinize Democratic women. She's a piece of work who never got elected to anything.

10. I don't normally give interviews ... especially to a slanderous child ...
Edited on Sat Mar-03-07 12:08 PM by Veronica.Franco
But if you must know ... I am a very classy successful independent woman and there's plenty of room in my world for other people's opinions without rolling in the mud when I see silly baseless comments like the one you just posted ... you have a great day ... good luck with that ... ;-)

More lame attacks appealing to age... You truly are a Maureen Dowd Fan. What are you so mature and older than everyone? You must be like 100 years old.

24. Ann Coulter and Maureen Dowd are long separated fraternal twins, two sides of the same coin.
They both make their living by attacking gender. Maureen Dowd said Al Gore was practically lactating, Coulter said he was fag, and she called Edwards a fag. Dowd is for the high brow and Coulter for the low brow, but they make their living by sending the same message. They trash and slander our best and brightest with trivial bull shit and enable corrupt incompetents such as Bush to power.

22. Calling her Republican filth, is too kind.
Calling her a bitch, is too kind. Mo makes a living being a mean-spirited heather. Just like Ann Coulter. Mo just does it with her writing ability, Ann does it, well, because Ann is probably a White Supremacist and the politics of meanness comes natural to them.

What we should be focusing on is the motivation, and I think someone has been doing that on this thread. She obviously is rooting for Hillary, so she belittles everyone else.

Heck, if you really want to attack Mo where it hurts, call her a liberal elitest.

3. She doesn't lay a glove on him
early in the interview he says he's more than willing to mix it up on real issues, like health care and Iraq, not manufactured "issues" like Geffengate. She was pretty much disarmed from there.

4. "Feral Hillary"? Dowdy strikes again.
Isn't it sweet how she's making Obama look like someone in grade school.

And, Dowdy, we lost two presidential elections because we didn't properly protect ourselves against massive election fraud. The voters did want us. So stuff it up some pretty pink orifice.

11. What animal howls?
Vipers? If you are calling those who don't like "MO" Vipers what does that make you?

What animals howl again?

Just like your idol, MO you can't resist attacking others with appeals to ageism, "kiddies" indeed.

Delicate sensibilites? Develop a little class? It's a big world?
Thanks for the laundry list of helpful advice... O ye font of wisdom.

As to your "why read something..." question...

Well I guess because someone posted a link to her the OP ?

18. Some good advice from Obama to Dowd, there
“You don’t want to go on with too much pop psychology,” he replies.

And that is, I think Dowd's greatest failure - fake psychology that ends up making her look frivolous. She can be a great writer when she's got something to say, but I don't think she can do that twice a week, so she resorts to this kind of article.

20. Maureen Dowd is a coward and a slimeball....
Attack Al Gore for "his choice of earthtone clothing" and for being wimpy one day, credit him as a visionary the next. The same with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
She adds NOTHING to the political discourse. She's the Joan and Melissa Rivers of political punditry. She's got the requisite snarky writing skills to be a good gossip columnist, but in the substance department, she's a big fat ZERO. But present enough attitude and you're celebrated as some kind of great political deep-thinker.
And they wonder why this country is so dumbed down?

23. As he explains to MoDud
he arrived in Chicago (where politics is a blood sport) in 1985 and he didn't know anyone. Now he's a Senator from Illinois and a serious candidate for President. He didn't get to where he is because there's a neon "hit me" sign over his head.

That link is available to all on the net to use or not ... and, by the way, a few paragraphs do not a total make ... Mo's column and all others from the Times are posted, in their entirety, on the NYTIMES forums weekly and have been for many, many years ... if they don't object why should you? ...

37. "feral Hillary?"
Wow, what a pungent reminder of all the garbage this witch wrote during the Clinton administration. She can actually make me feel sympathy for Hillary Clinton (!!!). It's as though Dowd's emotional development was arrested at puberty: she's still in junior high, deciding who's cool and who's not. What a fucking waste of editorial space. What a sorry excuse for a journalist.
